West Tennessee Road Construction Updates for June 27-July 3, 2024

Temporary lane closures will occur in West Tennessee for road repairs and installations.

The Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) has announced potential daytime and nighttime lane closures across Region 4 from June 27 to July 3, 2024. These closures will facilitate repairs and new installations in various locations throughout 21 counties.

**District 47**

**Carroll County**

– **SR-22**: Resurfacing from the Henderson County Line to near Weatherford Rd. will cause temporary lane closures.

– **SR-77**: Resurfacing from near McLemoresville Road to the SR22 Bypass in Huntingdon will cause temporary lane closures.

**Dyer County**

– **SR-20**: Bridge repair on US 412 (SR 20) over the North Fork Forked Deer River will cause temporary lane closures. Restrictions include a single lane in each direction with a 12’ lane restriction and a 5’ shoulder. Speed limit reduced to 55 MPH.

– **SR-181**: Resurfacing from SR 104 to the Lake County Line, and from Lauderdale County Line to SR 104, will cause temporary lane closures.

– **SR-104**: Resurfacing from Chic Road to SR 181 will cause temporary lane closures.

**Gibson/Carroll County**

– **SR-76 (US-79)**: Grading, drainage, construction of a concrete box bridge, noise wall, and paving from west of Cades-Atwood Road in Gibson County to east of SR 77 in Carroll County will cause temporary lane closures. Barker Road is permanently closed at the intersection of the new SR 76 construction with detours in place.

**Henry/Weakley County**

– **SR-22**: Resurfacing with HOT IN-PLACE RECYCLING from the Carroll County Line in Henry County to SR 217 in Weakley County will cause temporary lane closures.

**Obion County**

– **Future I-69 (Phase 3)**: SR 690 (Future I-69) is now open. Speed limits are reduced to 45 mph in the southbound lanes transitioning onto US51. Crews will continue work on closed ramps.

**Weakley County**

– **SR-445**: Miscellaneous safety improvements including resurfacing from Gibson County Line to near Losson Puckett Road will cause temporary lane closures.

– **SR-431**: Miscellaneous safety improvements on Skyhawk Parkway from SR-216 (Baker Road) to Old Fulton Road will cause temporary lane closures.

**District 48**

**Crockett County**

– **US-412 (SR-20)**: Resurfacing with hot-in-place recycling from Birmingham/Lyons Road to US-79 (SR-76) will cause temporary lane closures with one lane remaining open at all times.

**Haywood County**

– **I-40**: Nightly lane closures from MM 60 to 67 between July 8 and July 17, and July 17 through July 24, for resurfacing work.

– **SR 179**: Resurfacing with Full-Depth Reclamation (FDR) from US70 (SR1) to SR76 will cause temporary lane closures with one lane open at all times.

– **SR 222**: Inside lane closures both north and southbound from June 24 through August 5 starting from approximately 1600′ north of Stanton Somerville RD to the south side of the entrance to the Haywood County Fire Station.

**District 49**

**Fayette County**

– **SR-196**: Temporary lane closures with flagger operations for resurfacing from SR-193 to U.S. 64 (SR-15) daily from 6:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.

**Lauderdale County**

– **US-51 (SR-3)**: Lane closures for intersection improvements at Curve-Nankipoo Rd. with speed reduced to 55 MPH.

– **US-51 (SR-3)**: Resurfacing from the Tipton County Line to SR-19 and from SR-88 to the Dyer County Line will cause temporary lane closures.

– **SR-19**: Resurfacing from US-51 (SR-3) to near Eastland Avenue will cause temporary lane closures.

**Shelby County**

– **I-40**: Nightly lane closures from near the Wolf River MM 11.2 to near Sycamore View Road MM 12.6 for resurfacing. Exit and entrance ramps will be intermittently closed.

– **SR-3**: Nightly lane closures from Babe Howard Blvd to the Tipton County Line for resurfacing.

– **SR-14 (Austin Peay Highway)**: Widening will cause shoulder and temporary lane closures in both directions. Intermittent lane closures for grading, drainage, and paving work.

– **SR-385**: Lane closures from LM 14.0 to LM 15.0 for new cable barrier rail installation from April 24 through May 1.

– **I-240 at Exit 23 (Airways Blvd)**: Ongoing temporary lane closures for safety improvements and storm drainage installation until August 1, 2024.

– **I-55/Crump**: Various lane restrictions and detours including an 11’ width restriction north and southbound.

– **SR-57 (Poplar Ave.)**: Nightly lane closures from Poplar View Pkwy to Eastly Rd for resurfacing activities.

– **SR-175 (Shelby Drive)**: Nightly lane closures from near Lamar Ave (SR-4) to Riverdale Rd for resurfacing and safety improvements.

– **Shady Grove Rd. Bridge over I-240**: Nightly lane closures on I-240 EB and WB for bridge repair from June 26 to August 30.

– **SR-23 (Walnut Grove Rd)**: Nightly lane closures from Poplar Ave to I-240 for resurfacing activities.

**Tipton County**

– **US-51 (SR-3)**: Temporary lane closures at the intersection of Kenwood Avenue for safety improvements.

**Non-TDOT Work**

**Shelby County**

– **SR-177 (Germantown Road)**: Long-term lane closures for widening and intersection improvements from Brierbrook to the Wolf River.
