Homicide Unit detectives are actively pursuing leads in the Tuesday afternoon murder of 18-year-old Malachi Rybka, which occurred inside an apartment on the 1000 block of Edgehill Avenue. According to the investigation, a gunman entered the apartment at approximately 2:15 p.m. and opened fire on Rybka. The victim was struck multiple times and succumbed to his injuries at the scene. The assailant fled the location immediately after the shooting.
Significant information has been developed in this case, and detectives from the Specialized Investigations Division TITANS Unit are providing assistance in the ongoing investigation.

Suspect in February Shooting Arrested
Devin Lauderdale, a 25-year-old Georgia resident, has been arrested in Atlanta for his involvement in a February 7 shooting in Hillview Heights that injured a man. Lauderdale allegedly switched seats and drove away after the shooter, who remains under investigation, fired at the victim. Lauderdale faces charges of attempted criminal homicide and will be returned to Nashville.
