Authorities are investigating a fatal shooting that took place near the intersection of Lewis and Winfrey Streets on Sunday afternoon. The identity of the deceased individual has not yet been confirmed.
According to Homicide Unit detectives, surveillance footage suggests that the victim was walking along Lewis Street with a pistol in hand when a verbal confrontation occurred with another person. This confrontation escalated into an exchange of gunfire. The victim was struck by gunfire and attempted to flee but ultimately collapsed on Lewis Street. Before collapsing, the victim threw his gun over a fence onto the property of the Metro Water Department, where it was later recovered by investigators.
The investigation into the incident is still ongoing.

17-Year-Old Arrested for March Fatal Shooting
Dazmane Moore, 17, has been arrested and charged with criminal homicide for the March 8 murder of Gregory Manning II, 20, which occurred during an argument in an apartment at Villas of Metro Center.
