Urban Story Ventures is hosting a groundbreaking ceremony for THE BEND®, a 120-acre mixed-use redevelopment in downtown Chattanooga, on Wednesday, April 10 at 2:00 PM. The ceremony marks a significant milestone for the project, which recently received unanimous approval for the One Westside Plan, a tax increment financing (TIF) agreement to develop public infrastructure, revitalize the Westside community, and provide funding for affordable housing, public education, and a new downtown school.
The groundbreaking ceremony will take place at the project site, located at 1067 Riverfront Parkway. Attendees are encouraged to RSVP and wear business casual attire with sturdy shoes. Special guests and speakers at the event will include Jimmy White, President and Managing Partner of Urban Story Ventures; Mayor Tim Kelly of the City of Chattanooga; Mayor Weston Wamp of Hamilton County; and Charles Wood, President & CEO of the Chattanooga Area Chamber of Commerce.
The North Phase of THE BEND® will focus on infrastructure projects, preparing pad-ready blocks for mixed-use development, including an urban grocery store, office and retail space, multi-family apartments, and parking. Urban Story Ventures believes that THE BEND® will play a major role in shaping the future of Chattanooga’s downtown and the surrounding region.
