Jamien Taylor, 26, was rearrested this morning for the attempted kidnapping of a 15-year-old student in Nashville, just days after being released on $3,000 bond for false imprisonment and assault charges. The female student noticed Taylor watching and following her after she got off a school bus on 17th Avenue North. She ran to the school building where she alerted adults.
Officers from the School Rapid Response Team quickly apprehended Taylor on a WeGo bus at 17th Avenue North and Charlotte Avenue. Taylor admitted to running after the student and is now charged with attempted kidnapping and assault, with his bond set at $75,000.
Taylor was previously charged on April 17 for allegedly following a woman into an elevator and making unwanted sexual advances. The Community Bail Fund posted his $3,000 bond on Tuesday, leading to his release.
Chief John Drake expressed serious concern, stating, “The safety of our community should be a real consideration in the setting of bonds and pre-trial release conditions. That should involve weighing the nature of offenses and the specific details alleged in arrest warrant affidavits. It’s no secret that our officers are dealing with the same people time and again.
