Woman Charged Following Incident at Opry Mills Mall

Alexandria Dady charged after causing panic at Opry Mills Mall with assault and kidnapping.

Alexandria Dady, a 29-year-old woman, has been charged in connection with a disturbance at Opry Mills Mall in Nashville that led to a mass evacuation on Saturday. Dady turned herself in and is facing charges of kidnapping and aggravated assault. The charges stem from an altercation with her ex-boyfriend at a Chili’s restaurant within the mall, where she allegedly attacked him.

According to reports, Dady assaulted her ex-boyfriend, who was working at the restaurant, by throwing a glass at his head, which broke and caused cuts on his arm and wrist. Following the attack, Dady forced him outside into a black Dodge Challenger. An unidentified woman accompanying Dady was seen picking up a shoe, which may have been mistaken for a weapon, contributing to the panic.

Despite initial reports of gunfire, surveillance footage and witness statements confirmed no shots were fired during the incident. The situation led to a significant police response, with over 40 officers and multiple agencies involved in clearing the mall to ensure public safety.

Dady has a prior record, including convictions for aggravated assault and other offenses. She has been released on a $40,000 bond. The incident highlights the effectiveness of the coordinated response by the Nashville Fire Department, OEM, and THP in handling the situation efficiently.
