The following is a summary of road construction activities and closures across East Tennessee for the week of February 20-26, 2025. Motorists are advised to remain alert and exercise caution in areas where construction is taking place.
In Blount County, I-140 East and West between Mile Markers 11 and 0 will have shoulder and potential lane closures nightly from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. due to an I.T.S. expansion project. SR 162 Pellissippi Parkway is reduced to one lane for bridge work between Cusick Road and SR 33, with possible rolling roadblocks from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily for blasting operations. The SR 334 bridge over the CSX Railroad will also experience lane closures for repairs.
Campbell County motorists on I-75 North and South between Mile Markers 156 and 161 should expect nightly lane closures from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. SR 63 will have temporary lane closures between Frontier Road/Woodson Lane and Claiborne County Line, and between SR 297 and Stinking Creek Road, as crews work on construction. In addition, utility work on SR 116 near Old Mill Road may cause temporary lane closures between 7 a.m. and 6 p.m.
Carter County faces closures on US 321/SR 67 Bridge over the Doe River, and US 321/SR 159 between Green Hollow Road and Poga Road due to storm damage. Motorists are advised to seek alternative routes. The SR 37 between Log Miles 1.4 and 1.6 will have temporary lane closures for slope stabilization between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m.
In Claiborne County, SR 63 between the Campbell County Line and Hall Lane will have temporary lane closures between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. In Cocke County, I-40 East at Mile Marker 451 is closed due to storm damage, with local traffic only access between Mile Marker 447 and 451. Truck traffic is prohibited on US 25/70 between Tennessee and Hot Springs, North Carolina. Temporary lane closures will occur on SR 35 between Old Newport Highway and Fain Road.
In Greene County, SR 35 and SR 107 Bridge over the Nolichucky River are closed due to storm damage, while SR 351 Bridge is open to one-lane traffic controlled by a temporary signal. In Hamblen County, US 25/SR 32 will have lane closures for concrete rehabilitation and roadway work at Progress Parkway/Thoroughbred Run Road. Hawkins County motorists should expect temporary lane closures on SR 346 near Log Mile 8.2.
Jefferson County will see lane closures on US 25/70/SR 9 over Rimmer and Koontz Creeks, and on SR 113 at SR 341 for intersection improvements. Johnson County’s US 321/SR 159 is closed due to storm damage.
Knox County will have various interstate closures, including I-40 West near Mile Marker 383.5, I-40 Ramp to I-640 East at Exit 385, and I-75 North near Mile Marker 109.5 for repairs. The US 129/SR 115 Alcoa Highway projects will cause lane closures and shifts. US 441/SR 71 and US 11/70 Neyland Drive will experience utility and road work closures.
In Loudon County, the I-40 East Ramp at Exit 364 will close for concrete repairs from February 21-23, 2025. Monroe County’s I-75 near Mile Marker 63 and US 411/SR 33 Bridge over Little Tennessee River will have lane reductions.
Morgan County’s SR 116 Petros Highway is reduced to one lane for bridge replacement. Roane County, I-40 East and West will have mobile lane closures on February 21, 2025. Sevier County will see mobile lane closures on I-40 East and West nightly.
Sullivan County will have various closures on SR 75, SR 93 Bridge, and SR 126. Unicoi County’s I-26 East and West will have lane reductions, with detours for wide loads. Sections of SR 36 and SR 81 are closed due to storm damage.
Union County’s SR 33 widening project will cause lane closures and shifts. Washington County’s SR 81 and SR 353 Bridges over the Nolichucky River are closed.
