Tennessee Mr. and Miss Basketball Finalists Announced

Tennessee announces top high school basketball finalists for 2025 awards.

The Tennessee Secondary School Athletic Association has announced the finalists for the 2025 Mr. and Miss Basketball Awards. The prestigious awards will honor outstanding high school basketball players in six classifications. The ceremony is scheduled to take place at the Tucker Theater on the Middle Tennessee State University (MTSU) campus on Tuesday, March 18, at 5:30 p.m. The event is open to the public.

A committee of sportswriters from across the state selected the finalists based on their performance during the 2024-2025 regular season, as well as their academic achievements and character. Nominations were submitted by high school head basketball coaches and members of the media.

This year marks the 40th anniversary of the awards, which have been recognizing Tennessee’s top high school basketball talent since 1985. Initially sponsored by American General, the awards were later supported by the Memphis Grizzlies from 2002 to 2004. From 2005 to 2015, the awards were presented as part of the post-game trophy ceremony at each championship game.
