TDCI Honored with Veteran Saves Week Award

TDCI receives 2024 Savings Champion Award for promoting veteran savings strategies.

The Tennessee Department of Commerce & Insurance’s (TDCI) Securities Division has been awarded the 2024 Veteran Saves Week Savings Champion award. This accolade is given to organizations that actively promote savings strategies during the annual Veteran Saves Week, part of National Military Appreciation Month. TDCI is among 18 organizations honored out of over 887 participants in the event held from November 12 – 15, 2024.

Krystel Spell, the Program Manager of Veteran Saves, praised these organizations for their commitment to the veteran community, emphasizing the impact of practical and innovative savings strategies introduced during the campaign. The efforts resulted in reaching over 4.1 million individuals and generating nearly $1.7 million in deposits into savings accounts, with an additional $418,000 pledged for future savings.

TDCI Assistant Commissioner for Securities Elizabeth Bowling expressed pride in receiving the award, highlighting the team’s military experience and understanding of veterans’ financial challenges. The Securities Division is available year-round to assist veterans with financial inquiries.
