Scheduled Construction and Lane Closures in West Tennessee

Detailed updates on road construction and potential lane closures in West Tennessee.

The Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) has announced various construction activities and potential lane closures across West Tennessee for the period of February 19-26, 2025. These projects are intended to enhance road infrastructure and improve traffic flow across the region.

In District 47, Carroll County will experience lane closures on SR-76 (US-79) due to grading, drainage, noise wall installation, and paving. Meadowbrook Lane and Big Buck Road have been closed since late 2024, with detours provided. Additionally, improvements at the intersection of SR-22 and Clyde Road, as well as SR-22 and Lexington Street, will also result in lane closures. In Dyer County, inspections on the bridge over the North Fork Forked Deer River will necessitate outside lane closures.

In District 48, Chester County will see bridge repairs on U.S. 45 starting October 1, 2024, affecting southbound traffic. Hardin County’s SR128 over the Pickwick Dam will have temporary lane closures. Madison County will have nighttime lane closures on I-40 Eastbound for concrete pavement repairs from February 27 to March 1. Additionally, local road work on S. Highland Ave. will lead to daytime lane closures until early March.

District 49 covers significant work in Fayette and Shelby Counties. In Fayette County, SR-222 near the I-40 interchange will see reduced speed limits and temporary lane closures. In Shelby County, various road widenings and improvements will cause lane closures on SR-57, SR-4, SR-14, SR-23, and SR-385. The I-40 Hernando DeSoto Bridge will have ongoing repair activities, resulting in lane closures with speed limits reduced to 45 MPH. The I-55 interchange at E. H. Crump Blvd. is under modification, leading to intermittent closures and detours.
