Murfreesboro Initiates 2025 Special Census Effort

Murfreesboro has launched a 2025 Special Census campaign to collect accurate household data, with firefighters conducting door-to-door surveys for residents who haven’t filled out the form online or by mail. Mayor Shane McFarland and Assistant City Manager Sam Huddleston stress the importance of the census for securing state-shared funding, potentially adding $3.5 million annually. The campaign, which includes home fire safety checks, has already gathered data for 25% of the expected population, and the city estimates a 20,000 resident increase. Residents can find more information and complete the census online.
