David Claiborne, a 33-year-old man, was apprehended by detectives from the TITANS Unit after allegedly firing into a woman’s home on Crutcher Street in Nashville. The incident occurred this afternoon while the woman and a juvenile were inside the residence. Prior to the shooting, Claiborne had reportedly sent a threatening text message to the woman. Upon arriving at her home, he began shouting from outside and subsequently fired shots at the door and windows.
Following the shooting, detectives tracked Claiborne to a location on Dabbs Avenue. He attempted to escape from a traffic stop but was quickly detained by law enforcement officers. During the arrest, a handgun was recovered along the path Claiborne took while trying to flee. In an interview with detectives, Claiborne confessed to the shooting.
He has been charged with two counts of aggravated assault and remains in custody on a $100,000 bond.
