Knoxville Fire Department Recruitment Expo Announced

Knoxville Fire Department to host a Recruitment Expo on February 26, 2025.

The Knoxville Fire Department (KFD) is set to organize a Recruitment Expo on Wednesday, February 26, 2025, from 3 to 6 p.m. This event will take place at the Knoxville Expo Center located at 5441 Clinton Highway. The purpose of this free event is to connect interested individuals with KFD staff, offering insights into a fulfilling career in fire safety and providing information on applying for the upcoming recruitment class.

Prospective firefighters attending the event will gain valuable information on various aspects, including the hiring process, job expectations, and details about the City of Knoxville’s competitive benefits package. This package features annual stipends for advanced Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) and paramedic training. Attendees will also have the opportunity to hear first-hand accounts of the day-to-day life of a KFD firefighter.

In addition to career information, the event encourages attendees to bring their families. Families can explore fire trucks and other apparatus and engage in fire-safety skills practice within the KFD Safety House.

To qualify for application, candidates must be at least 18 years old and possess a high school diploma or equivalent. No prior firefighting experience is necessary. Applications will be readily available on-site during the event, or they can be filled out online at the Knoxville Jobs website.
