Five juvenile males, ranging in age from 15 to 16, were apprehended by the Rapid School Safety Team in collaboration with the Violent Crimes Division detectives in Nashville. The arrests took place at a gas station on Old Hickory Boulevard near Bell Road following an investigative traffic stop. The vehicle involved was a Nissan Titan truck, from which two handguns were seized.
The incident traces back to a previous report on Tuesday, where officers responded to gunshots fired near Cane Ridge High School involving a Nissan Titan. The school was briefly put on lockdown, and officers retrieved 47 shell casings from Sprucedale Drive’s vicinity. Subsequent investigations on Wednesday used neighborhood license plate reader cameras to gather more information about the truck.
On Thursday afternoon, officers located the Nissan Titan while patrolling near Sprucedale Drive, trailed it briefly, and executed the traffic stop. The five teenagers, none of whom are Cane Ridge High School students, exited the vehicle and were detained. Inside the truck, officers found 9mm and .40 caliber handguns.
The teenagers face charges in Juvenile Court for reckless endangerment and juvenile handgun possession. The 16-year-old driver additionally faces charges for driving without a license and altering identification numbers.
