An early morning car accident on Dickerson Pike at Old Hickory Boulevard resulted in the death of the driver, Nicholas Hardy, 50, from Goodlettsville. The incident occurred at around 4 a.m. when Hardy’s Chevrolet Impala was reportedly traveling northbound at a high rate of speed. The vehicle veered into the oncoming traffic lanes and collided with a metal utility pole. Hardy was subsequently transported to Skyline Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead. Preliminary investigations at the scene did not indicate any signs of impairment.

The suspect, who fled in a white Ford Flex, was involved in a verbal altercation with the victim before the shooting.
