On Sunday afternoon, a tragic accident occurred on I-24 East involving a motorcyclist and a tractor trailer. The motorcyclist, identified as 36-year-old Derek McIntosh from Smithville, was operating a Harley Davidson FLT. According to the preliminary investigation, McIntosh was merging onto I-24 East from Harding Place when the motorcycle collided with the side of a tractor trailer. The motorcycle subsequently traveled underneath the tractor trailer.
Unfortunately, Mr. McIntosh succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities report that there was no evidence of impairment found in either driver involved in the collision.

A tip to Nashville Crime Stoppers has led to the arrest of Randy Brooks II, who is charged with criminal homicide for the murder of Uriel Miller on I-40. Dashcam footage and a matching vehicle were key in identifying Brooks as a suspect, with the incident believed to be a case of mistaken identity. Brooks is held on a $500,000 bond.
