The Erlanger Chattanooga Marathon Weekend is set to celebrate its 10th anniversary from February 28 to March 2, 2025. Organized by the Chattanooga Tourism Co. and supported by various community partners, the event promises enhanced activities and new experiences to mark this milestone. The weekend is expected to attract over 4,000 participants and spectators from 34 states and five countries, contributing an estimated $1 million to the local economy.
Among the new offerings this year is a 10K race introduced to commemorate the anniversary. Participants can also look forward to a 10-Year Kickoff Celebration and Expo on Friday, featuring family-friendly activities such as live music, food trucks, games, and a beer garden. Additionally, athletes aged 21 and over can enjoy a complimentary Michelob Ultra beer post-race or at the expo.
Special edition medals and race merchandise will be available to celebrate a decade of the Erlanger Chattanooga Marathon. The weekend’s events will kick off with the Expo and Packet Pickup on Friday from 3 PM to 7 PM, followed by the kickoff celebration. Saturday’s schedule includes the new 10K race at 8:50 AM and a 5K race at 9 AM, with awards ceremonies for both events taking place at 10 AM. The Kids Fun Run will begin at 10:45 AM, and the expo, beer garden, and kids fun zone will be open from 9 AM to 2 PM. Online registration will close at 3 PM on Saturday.
Sunday’s events will feature the half and full marathons starting at 7:30 AM, with awards ceremonies scheduled for 10 AM and 12 PM, respectively. The expo and beer garden will be open from 9 AM to 2 PM both Saturday and Sunday. More details and the full event schedule can be found here.
The marathon events will begin at the First Horizon Pavilion and traverse Chattanooga’s scenic streets, bridges, and riverfront. Participants and spectators should be aware of road closures and traffic impacts throughout the weekend and are encouraged to review the full traffic impact report for details.
In addition to the races, the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, in collaboration with Fast Break Athletics, will conduct a research study on health behaviors and exercise attitudes among 5K and 10K participants. This study aims to gather insights into runners’ motivations, challenges, and experiences, contributing to future health and fitness research.
