Eight distinguished individuals will be inducted into the Tennessee Secondary School Athletic Association (TSSAA) Hall of Fame. The induction ceremony will take place during the annual luncheon at the Student Union Building on the campus of Middle Tennessee State University in Murfreesboro on Monday, April 7, 2025. This year’s inductees include two administrators, three coaches, two officials, and one contributor.
The Class of 2025 inductees are Bill Bingham from Bristol, Clint Jackson from Memphis, Jinx Cockerham from Nashville, Donald Dodgen from Knoxville, Pat Simpson from Nashville, Jim Fox from Knoxville, Thomas Frierson from Columbia, and Chip Walters from Murfreesboro. These individuals will join the ranks of past inductees who have been selected since the Hall of Fame’s establishment in 1982.
The luncheon, which will honor both new and past inductees, begins at 11:00 a.m. on April 7. Tickets can be purchased online starting February 24 at the TSSAA website through this link. It’s important to note that tickets will not be available at the door and must be picked up on the day of the event.
Bill Bingham has dedicated 39 years to education and athletics, serving as an influential coach and athletic director at Tennessee High. Clint Jackson has made significant contributions to Memphis education, serving as both an educator and administrator. Jinx Cockerham is renowned for her 40 seasons as a volleyball coach and 42 years in girls’ basketball at Father Ryan High School. Donald Dodgen’s 38-year coaching career spans multiple schools and sports, including a successful tenure at Farragut High School.
Pat Simpson, a former wrestler and coach, has significantly influenced Father Ryan High School’s wrestling program, earning numerous championships. Jim Fox has had a 40-year career as a TSSAA official, officiating in multiple sports. Thomas Frierson, with a 50-year career, is known for his dedication to officiating in various sports. Finally, Chip Walters is a prominent figure in Middle Tennessee sports broadcasting, known for his long-standing role as the “Voice of the Blue Raiders.”
