The Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) has announced scheduled lane closures throughout various locations in West Tennessee from February 5 to February 12, 2025. These lane closures are necessary for ongoing construction projects, including repairs and new installations, across multiple counties in the region.
In Carroll County, lane closures will occur on SR-76 (US-79) due to grading, drainage, and paving activities from SR-77 to near Cutlip Lane. Meadowbrook Lane and Big Buck Road remain closed, with detours provided. Intersection improvements on SR-22 near the Huntingdon Industrial Park will also affect traffic.
In Dyer County, inspections on the SR-211 bridge over the North Fork Forked Deer River will result in lane closures. Meanwhile, in Gibson and Carroll counties, work on SR-76 (US-79) involves various construction activities, including a new four-lane section, which will continue with intermittent lane closures.
Chester County will see bridge repairs on U.S. 45, causing lane closures for southbound traffic. In Hardin County, rehabilitation work on the SR-128 bridge over Pickwick Dam will maintain one open lane at all times. Haywood and Madison counties will experience lane closures on I-40 for pothole patching.
In Fayette County, construction on SR-222, including the I-40 interchange, will cause temporary lane closures, with one lane remaining open. The speed limit on SR-222 has been reduced to 40 MPH. Additionally, SR-76 will be reduced to one lane, with temporary signals installed at Lagrange Road and Kay Lane.
Shelby County has multiple ongoing projects, including roadway widening on SR-175 (Shelby Drive) and SR-4, as well as shoulder and lane closures on SR-14 for widening activities. Lane closures will also occur on the SR-14 Bridge over the CSX Railroad for concrete repairs. Pavement marking activities will affect Walnut Grove Rd. (SR-23) and Poplar Avenue (SR-57), with at least one lane remaining open.
Further, the Hernando DeSoto Bridge over the Mississippi River on I-40 will undergo repair activities, with lane closures scheduled. The I-55 interchange at E. H. Crump Blvd. is under construction, leading to intermittent lane closures and detours. Speed limits are reduced to 45 MPH in the work zones.
In Tipton County, lane closures on US-51 (SR-3) at Kenwood Avenue will occur for safety improvements. Non-TDOT work in Shelby County involves long-term lane closures on SR-177 (Germantown Road) for widening and intersection improvements.
