Blood donations are critical for saving lives, supporting patients undergoing surgery, those fighting cancer, accident victims, and numerous others who depend on the generosity of donors. To make a difference before the winter storm arrives, Blood Assurance encourages individuals to visit their nearest center today or on Thursday. Throughout January, all donors will receive a special “Save Lives” long-sleeve t-shirt in appreciation of their contribution. Additionally, O-negative donors and AB plasma donors will receive a $25 e-gift card.
To be eligible to donate, individuals must be at least 17 years old (or 16 with parental consent), weigh at least 110 pounds, and be in good health. Donors are also advised to stay hydrated and eat a hearty meal before donating.
