TDOT announces construction and speed limit changes in Rutherford County.

The Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) has announced upcoming construction work and speed limit changes in Rutherford County. On January 16 and 17, construction crews will be working on New Salem Highway, between Middle Tennessee Boulevard and Old Fort Parkway. During this period, there will be lane closures, traffic shifts, and potential delays from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Motorists are advised to exercise caution and consider seeking alternate routes to avoid congestion.

Additionally, effective January 27, TDOT will enforce a speed limit change on Highway 231, also known as Shelbyville Highway/SR10. The speed limit will be reduced from 65 MPH to 55 MPH, from the Bedford/Rutherford County Line to the Murfreesboro City Limits. Drivers are encouraged to adhere to the new speed limit for their safety and the safety of others.
