Two Men Arrested in Connection with Stolen Vehicles and Firearm

Two men were arrested in Nashville for driving stolen Jeeps and possessing a stolen gun.

Two men, Keyvon West, 18, and Nicholas Dalton, 20, were arrested by detectives from the Violent Crimes Division and Auto Theft Unit, with assistance from the MNPD Aviation Unit, for driving stolen vehicles and possessing a stolen handgun. The incident occurred when a stolen white 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee, taken from Hallbrook Court with the keys left inside, was used to pick up the driver of a stolen black 2018 Jeep Compass on Fenway Loop, which bore a fake temporary tag.

Keyvon West, the driver of the Compass, joined Nicholas Dalton in the Grand Cherokee before both men fled on foot in the Hickory Club Drive area. They were apprehended in the breezeway of an apartment building on Bell Road. During the arrest, West dropped a black backpack containing a stolen handgun and various stolen debit and credit cards. The Canik 9mm handgun had been stolen in a vehicle burglary earlier that week.

In custody, West admitted awareness of the stolen status of both Jeeps. Inside the Compass, police found marijuana and Dalton’s suspended license. Dalton, previously arrested in January 2024 for being in a stolen Dodge Durango, now faces multiple charges, including two counts of motor vehicle theft, evading arrest, marijuana possession, and driving on a suspended license. He is detained with a $63,000 bond.

West has been charged with motor vehicle burglary, evading arrest, altering a vehicle tag, marijuana possession, dangerous felony weapon possession, theft of a firearm, two counts of motor vehicle theft, and two counts of credit card fraud. His bond is set at $93,500. Both individuals remain under investigation for numerous vehicle burglaries in and outside of Davidson County.
