Three male students, including two 12-year-olds, were arrested today in Nashville for making threats in unrelated incidents at local schools.
The first incident involved an 11th-grade student at Knowledge Academy who became upset when his backpack was confiscated for not being clear, as per school policy. The student threatened “Antioch part two” if his headphones were missing, leading to his immediate removal from class. A search of his person and backpack revealed nothing concerning.
In a separate case, a threat was posted on Instagram targeting Antioch High School and Hillsboro High School. The FBI and Metro Nashville Police Department’s Rapid School Safety Team officers identified a 12-year-old male suspect at Dupont Tyler Middle School, who admitted to posting the threat.
The third incident involved a 12-year-old sixth grader at Apollo Middle School who threatened to shoot four classmates around dismissal time and showed one classmate a picture of a gun.
All three students have been charged in Juvenile Court with making a threat of mass violence. The Metropolitan Nashville Police Department emphasizes that threats against schools are taken very seriously, and responsible individuals will be prosecuted.
