Three male students, all minors, were arrested today in Nashville for making unrelated threats against schools. The students involved include two 13-year-olds and a 14-year-old.
The first incident involved a seventh grader at Valor Flagship Academy. The student admitted to making threats against Valor Flagship Academy, Thurgood Marshall Middle School, and John F. Kennedy Middle School, claiming his intention was to scare other students.
In the second case, a 13-year-old from Haynes Middle School posted a threat on Instagram about shooting multiple area schools. This student has a history of making similar threats.
The third case involved a 14-year-old from H.G. Hill Middle School. This student sent a photo of a gun to another student and made threats about planning to shoot up the school. Several students reported these threats to school staff.
All three students have been charged in Juvenile Court with making threats of mass violence. The student from Haynes Middle School faces an additional charge for making a false report.
The Metropolitan Nashville Police Department (MNPD) emphasizes the seriousness of such threats and is committed to prosecuting individuals responsible for them.
