Teen Arrested for Vehicle Crimes in Nashville

A teen in a stolen SUV was arrested for multiple vehicle crimes in Nashville.

A 14-year-old male was taken into custody by Madison Precinct patrol officers in Nashville after being involved in vehicle-related crimes. The suspect was driving a stolen Toyota Sequoia in East Nashville when officers attempted to intercept him. The chase was called off when the vehicle ran stop signs and traffic lights at high speeds.

Later, Violent Crimes detectives located the SUV again, and an MNPD helicopter monitored its movements. The vehicle was eventually stopped using spike strips in Madison, and the driver, along with the SUV passengers, fled on foot. Canine Officer Garrett Reingardt and his partner, Wick, apprehended the driver on Dueling Avenue. Before being caught, the teen discarded a handgun and a cell phone.

The young suspect faces charges in Juvenile Court, including vehicle theft, juvenile handgun possession, evading arrest, reckless driving, driving without a license, and possession of burglary tools. This was not his first run-in with the law; he had previous charges dating back to January 2024.

The Toyota Sequoia had been stolen from a residence on Brush Hill Road overnight. The investigation is ongoing to determine the extent of the teen’s involvement in other burglaries and vehicle crimes.
