Nashville Teens Arrested for Stolen Guns and Vehicle

Six teens arrested in Nashville for possession of stolen guns and vehicle.

Detectives from the Violent Crimes Division in Nashville successfully apprehended six teenagers on Friday, following reports of criminal activity involving a stolen vehicle and firearms. The group of teens, driving a stolen Hyundai Elantra, was seen in Madison with a rifle being waved out of a window. A vigilant neighbor provided detectives with the vehicle’s license plate number, leading them to locate the Elantra parked at Neely’s Bend Elementary School.

The vehicle was reported stolen from Timberlake Circle in Antioch the previous night. The occupants, comprising three 15-year-olds and two 14-year-olds, were arrested nearby. During the investigation, detectives recovered a stolen pistol from the vehicle, which was linked to a recent burglary of a licensed firearm dealer. The teens admitted their involvement in several recent crimes, including additional firearm dealer burglaries. All five were charged in Juvenile Court for motor vehicle theft, juvenile handgun possession, and carrying a weapon on school property.

Further investigation led to the implication of a sixth individual, a 13-year-old who was previously arrested on December 9th with nine other teens from two stolen vehicles. A consent search of his home resulted in the recovery of two stolen firearms. This minor confessed to participating in a recent burglary at Lions Vapor Smoke Shop, located at 843 Hamilton Crossing, where a stolen Kia Soul was used to break into the store. Unopened vape products were found in his bedroom during the search. The 13-year-old now faces burglary charges in Juvenile Court. Additional charges for all six teenagers are expected.
