A tip provided to Nashville Crime Stoppers has resulted in the arrest of Randy Brooks II, 43, who has been charged with criminal homicide for the murder of Uriel Miller, 26, which took place on January 12 on I-40 east, just past the Fesslers Lane exit. The arrest followed the release of dashcam footage from a tractor-trailer, which showed a Honda Odyssey van trailing Miller’s car and pulling alongside it. This is when investigators believe shots were fired from the van into Miller’s Crown Victoria sedan.
The Crime Stoppers tip indicated that Brooks owns a 2005 Honda Odyssey van, identical to the one seen in the dashcam footage. The van was found parked outside Brooks’ residence on Sadler Avenue. It is currently believed that Brooks mistook Miller’s vehicle for another, leading to the shooting. Brooks is currently being held on a $500,000 bond.
