According to Murfreesboro City Clerk Melanie Joy Peterson, the city has partnered with JustFOIA to streamline the public records request process, aiming to manage requests more effectively and improve response times. Murfreesboro Fire Department Achieves Full Staffing

The Murfreesboro Fire Rescue Department in Tennessee has reached full staffing, enhancing its service efficiency, following a significant pay increase approved by the city council in the 2025 budget. The pay raise has positively impacted staffing levels, with salaries for new recruits starting at $56,883. Fully staffed, the department can better respond to the city’s needs, with 20,894 incidents handled in 2024. MFRD operates 11 fire stations and will not hold a spring recruit class this year, focusing instead on current shifts.
