Murfreesboro City Hall and Services Update

Murfreesboro adjusts operations due to deteriorating road conditions.

City Hall in Murfreesboro will close to the public at noon on Friday, January 10, due to expected worsening road conditions. However, limited staffing will remain in place to maintain operations in most departments, including Water Resources Customer Service at 300 NW Broad St., until 4:30 p.m.

Murfreesboro City Schools, including EPS and the Central Office, will remain closed. For the latest updates on closures and cancellations, visit the [Murfreesboro website](https://www.murfreesborotn.gov/).

The Street Department is actively engaged in plowing and salting State Routes and major thoroughfares, with crews working in two 12-hour shifts until the roads are clear. The department is responsible for ice and snow removal on State Routes within city limits under a contract with TDOT, as well as city streets and thoroughfares. Motorists can report hazardous street conditions to 615-893-4380.

Essential services, including emergency operations and public safety, continue to operate. Murfreesboro Police officers are available to assist drivers during weather-related emergencies, and motorists are advised to avoid driving unless absolutely necessary. For non-emergencies, the police department can be reached at 615-893-1311.

All Murfreesboro Fire Rescue stations and the Fire Administration remain operational. As of this morning, MPD officers have responded to five weather-related non-injury crashes and several road hazard calls.

Murfreesboro Solid Waste began collection at 5 a.m. Friday to gather as much garbage as possible before conditions worsened. The Middle Point Landfill closed at 8 a.m. Friday, and the Convenience Center on Main Street is also closed. Approximately 650 remaining customers will be prioritized on Monday morning.

Murfreesboro Transit is not operating during heavy snow and hazardous conditions, and the Municipal Airport runway is closed with minimal staff in place.

Old Fort Golf Course and Bloomfield Links are closed until conditions improve, though the Old Fort Clubhouse will maintain normal business hours.

Most Murfreesboro Parks & Recreation facilities will remain open with some program adjustments, closing at 4:30 p.m. Friday and reopening at 10 a.m. Saturday. Outdoor parks and trails remain open, but users should exercise caution due to possible snow and ice.
