MNPD Initiative Leads to Over 1,000 Arrests and Recovery of Stolen Vehicles and Guns

MNPD effort results in significant arrests and recovery of stolen vehicles and firearms.

The Metropolitan Nashville Police Department (MNPD) has announced the successful results of a special initiative aimed at curbing vehicle theft and related crimes. Since its launch in February, the initiative has led to 1,042 arrests, the recovery of 565 stolen vehicles, and the retrieval of 235 firearms. The department has highlighted the importance of community members taking proactive steps to prevent theft, such as locking car doors, securing valuables, and removing keys from vehicles. The MNPD reports that guns stolen from vehicles and stolen automobiles are frequently used in further criminal activities, including carjackings and robberies. The department urges residents to contribute to public safety by ensuring their vehicles and possessions are secure.
