The City of Knoxville has announced that it is now accepting applications for two grant programs for the 2025-2026 fiscal year, as facilitated by the office of Mayor Indya Kincannon. These programs are the Community Agency Grants (CAG) and the Opioid Abatement Grants.
The Community Agency Grants are designed to support non-profit organizations that align with the city’s goals in the areas of Arts & Culture and Community & Social Services. Under Mayor Kincannon’s administration, over $8 million in these grants have been awarded to local organizations. These funds aim to support cultural enrichment programs and health and wellness services, contributing to a thriving community.
The Opioid Abatement Grants focus on supporting efforts to reduce opioid addiction within Knoxville. This initiative is funded through settlements with opioid manufacturers, sellers, and distributors. For the 2025-2026 fiscal year, $300,000 will be made available to address the opioid crisis in the community. In the previous fiscal year, $310,000 was allocated to agencies working in this area.
To be eligible for these grants, organizations must operate within the Knoxville city limits and be registered as charitable organizations with the Tennessee Secretary of State, or have a current exemption. Community Agency Grant applicants are required to have held their 501c3 non-profit status for at least five years, while Opioid Abatement Grant applicants need at least two years of 501c3 non-profit status.
Interested parties can find application forms and additional information on the Knoxville City Grants website. New to this year, Community Agency Grant applications will be managed through the ZoomGrants online platform, with technical assistance available. Completed applications must be submitted by 4 p.m. on Friday, February 21, 2024. Late or incomplete submissions will not be accepted.
For further inquiries, applicants can contact Special Projects Manager Jennifer Searle at 865-215-2267 or via email at [email protected].
