Homicide detectives are currently investigating a possible drug-related motive in the fatal shooting of a man inside a vehicle at the 300 Hickory Apartments on Hickory Hollow Place, Nashville. The victim is believed to be a 23-year-old resident of Nashville, though his identity is yet to be confirmed through fingerprint analysis.
Preliminary investigations suggest that the incident occurred while the victim and a 24-year-old companion were present at the apartment complex. The vehicle they occupied was reportedly targeted by gunfire. The 24-year-old, sustaining injuries, managed to drive to the 1600 block of Antioch Pike, where he sought assistance from passersby to reach Southern Hills Medical Center. Unfortunately, the victim was pronounced dead shortly after arriving at the medical facility, while the 24-year-old is currently in stable condition. Detectives plan to interview him further as his medical condition permits.
Authorities are appealing for information from anyone who may have details regarding the person(s) involved in the shooting at the apartment complex. Individuals with information are encouraged to contact Crime Stoppers at 615-742-7463. Calls to Crime Stoppers remain anonymous, and informants may qualify for a cash reward.
