The University of Tennessee has released its 2024 annual survey titled, The Impact of TennCare: A Survey of Recipients, which reveals a remarkable 96% satisfaction rate among families utilizing TennCare for their children’s healthcare needs.
TennCare Director Stephen Smith expressed his views on the findings, stating, “The record high level of satisfaction with the TennCare program from our members is further evidence that TennCare is more successful today than at any point in its 30-year history. We are grateful for our many partnerships throughout the state that have led to this success and look forward to continuing our mission of improving lives through high-quality cost-effective care.”
The survey has been carried out annually since 1993 by the Boyd Center for Business and Economic Research at the University of Tennessee’s Haslam College of Business.

Tennessee Workers’ Comp Rates to Decrease in 2025
The Tennessee Department of Commerce and Insurance has announced a reduction in workers’ compensation insurance premiums for 2025, marking the 12th consecutive year of rate decreases. Governor Bill Lee praised the reduction as an opportunity for business reinvestment, while Commissioner Carter Lawrence credited safer workplaces and fewer injuries for the 3.6% decrease in loss costs, effective March 1, 2025. This change benefits employers by allowing them to adjust premiums based on the National Council on Compensation Insurance filings and their own data.
