East Tennessee is set to experience various road construction and maintenance activities from January 30 to February 5, 2025. Motorists are advised to exercise caution and stay informed about potential delays and detours during this period.

In Blount County, I-140 will have shoulder and potential lane closures between Mile Markers 0 and 11 as part of an I.T.S. expansion project. On SR 162 Pellissippi Parkway, traffic will be reduced to one lane for bridge work, with possible rolling roadblocks for blasting operations. Lane closures are also expected on the SR 334 bridge over the CSX Railroad.

Campbell County will see guardrail repairs on I-75 North near Mile Marker 132.4 on February 3, which may require lane closures. Nightly lane closures are possible between Mile Markers 156 and 161 on I-75. SR 63 will have temporary lane closures in two sections, impacting traffic flow.

In Carter County, the US 321/SR 67 Bridge over the Doe River and a section of US 321/SR 159 are closed due to storm damage. Alternate routes are recommended.

Claiborne County’s SR 63 will have temporary lane closures. In Cocke County, I-40 East is closed at Mile Marker 451 due to storm damage, and US 25/70 has restrictions for thru truck traffic.

Pickett State Forest Reopens to Vehicles

Pickett State Forest will reopen to motorized vehicles on February 1, 2025, following restoration efforts by the Tennessee Department of Agriculture to address damage caused by off-road vehicles. The project included road and trail restoration, with new usage maps and rules to balance recreational activities with environmental management.
