In a coordinated police operation, officers successfully arrested two individuals and recovered a variety of stolen items, including vehicles and illegal substances. The suspects, Jerell Bailey, 29, and Jaden Wooden, 19, were apprehended following the recovery of a stolen 2020 Jaguar XE, two firearms, 13.5 grams of methamphetamine, ten grams of cocaine, and several burglary tools. Additionally, two credit cards not bearing their names were found in their possession.
The incident unfolded as Vehicle Crimes detectives, assisting South Precinct patrol officers, were on the lookout for the stolen Jaguar that had previously evaded a traffic stop. The vehicle was located on Bell Road at Smith Springs Road and was subsequently monitored by a police helicopter. The chase led to Crossings Boulevard, where both suspects attempted to flee on foot but were quickly apprehended.
Jaden Wooden was identified as the driver and was found carrying a gun. A second weapon, along with meth, cocaine, marijuana, and other controlled substances, was discovered in his backpack. Authorities also found prescription pill bottles with other individuals’ names, a bottle of Promethazine, and burglary tools inside the stolen car. Wooden had outstanding warrants in Brentwood for evading law enforcement.
Wooden faces multiple charges, including felony drug possession, vehicle theft, evading arrest, reckless driving, possession of burglary tools, and gun possession during a felony. His bond is set at $138,000. Jerell Bailey, a previously convicted felon for drug offenses, has been charged with vehicle theft, possession of burglary tools, evading arrest, and felony drug possession. Bailey remains in custody on an $82,500 bond.
