NASHVILLE—The Office of Inspector General (OIG) has announced the conviction of Alexzandrea L. Oden, a 29-year-old resident of Clarksville, Tennessee. Oden was found guilty of two counts of TennCare fraud for selling a controlled substance, Adderall, to a confidential informant associated with the Williamson County Sheriff’s Department. The Adderall was obtained through Oden’s TennCare benefits.
As a result of her conviction, Oden has been sentenced to a four-year term with the Tennessee Department of Correction. Additionally, she has been ordered to pay $56.99 in restitution to TennCare. The case was prosecuted by Williamson County District Attorney Stacey Edmonson, with assistance from Deputy District Attorney General Sean B. Duddy.
Inspector General Chad D. Holman stated, “Prescription benefits provided by TennCare are meant to help recipients access essential medications. Ms. Oden’s actions were against the program’s intent and will not be tolerated. The OIG remains a resource for local law enforcement in combating illegal drug activities.”
