City Court Inclement Weather Guidelines

City Court operations align with Knox County Schools during inclement weather.

City Court has established a policy to address operations during inclement weather. The court will adhere to the schedule set by Knox County Schools regarding closings and delays.

If Knox County Schools are closed due to weather conditions, City Court will also remain closed. In cases where the schools open with a delay, the City Court will follow the same delayed schedule. Additionally, if Knox County Schools decide to dismiss early, any evening court sessions will be canceled.

The City Court Clerk’s Office will align its schedule with the City of Knoxville’s closure and delay announcements.

For court appearances scheduled on a day impacted by weather-related closures, the appearances will be rescheduled. Those affected will receive notification of the new court date via letter.

For any questions or further information, individuals can reach out to Judge Caviness’ Judicial Assistant, Emily Ellis, at 865-215-7472 or via email at [email protected].
