Woman Charged with Attempted Murder in Nashville Incident

A Nashville woman faces charges for allegedly hitting another woman with her vehicle.

Diamond Tankard, a 21-year-old woman, has been arrested and charged with attempted first-degree murder. The charges stem from an incident that occurred on November 29, in which Tankard allegedly struck a 30-year-old woman with her vehicle on 10th Avenue North, near the Minerva Avenue bar at 1002 Buchanan Street, Nashville. The victim and her sister were leaving the bar around 12:30 a.m. when Tankard approached the driver’s side window of their parked vehicle and inquired if the victim’s sister knew a certain male. A verbal argument ensued, which escalated into a physical altercation. The victim attempted to intervene, leading Tankard to get into her Range Rover, drive to the end of the street, turn around, and accelerate toward the victim, resulting in critical injuries.

At the time of the incident, Tankard was wearing an ankle monitor due to a previous domestic assault-related arrest from another county. The monitor confirmed her presence at the scene. Tankard is also charged with leaving the scene of an accident involving injury and failing to render aid to the victim. She is currently being held on a $1,002,000 bond.
