The Tennessee Department of Transportation has announced potential lane closures across various locations in Region 4 for the period from December 11 to December 18, 2024. These closures are necessary for repair and new installations across 21 counties.
In Carroll County, work on SR-76 (US-79) from near SR-77 to Cutlip Lane, and SR-22 intersections at Huntingdon Industrial Park, will lead to lane closures. Meadowbrook Lane and Big Buck Road will remain closed with detours available. In Dyer County, SR-211 and I-155 will experience lane closures for bridge inspections and resurfacing work.
Gibson and Carroll Counties will see ongoing construction on US-79 (SR-76), while Obion County will have resurfacing on SR-22. In Chester County, bridge repairs on U.S. 45 will affect southbound traffic. Decatur County’s SR 69 will undergo resurfacing with at least one lane open at all times.
In Madison County, US 70 will be temporarily closed for CSX Railroad work, and US 412 will have lane closures for resurfacing. Non-TDOT work on US 45 will result in lane closures for AT&T cable installation.
Fayette County will have operations on SR-222 and the I-40 interchange, with lane closures and reduced speed limits. Shelby County will see multiple projects, including digital message sign replacements on I-40 and SR 385, roadway widening on SR-175 and SR-4, and construction on SR-14. There will be closures on I-240 for safety improvements and repair activities on the Hernando DeSoto Bridge.
In Tipton County, US-51 at Kenwood Avenue will experience lane closures for safety improvements. Non-TDOT work on SR-177 in Shelby County will involve long-term lane closures for widening and intersection improvements.
