City offices and facilities will be closed on New Year’s Day to observe the holiday. There will be no Solid Waste garbage collection on Wednesday, January 1. Instead, Wednesday’s collection will be moved to Tuesday, December 31, and residents are advised to place their trash carts on the street the night before collection.
Murfreesboro Transit, the city’s public transportation service, will not operate on New Year’s Day, Wednesday, January 1, 2025. The Old Fort and Bloomfield Links golf courses will also be closed on New Year’s Day, although they will be open during normal hours on New Year’s Eve, December 31, weather permitting.
The Senior Center will close at 5 p.m. on New Year’s Eve, December 31, and remain closed on New Year’s Day. Regular hours will resume on Thursday, January 2, 2025. Similarly, the Adams Tennis Complex will close at 5 p.m. on New Year’s Eve and remain closed on New Year’s Day, reopening with regular hours on January 2, 2025.
Recreational facilities such as McFadden and Cannonsburgh Village will be closed on New Year’s Eve. Patterson and Sports*Com will close at 5 p.m. on New Year’s Eve. All recreational facilities will be closed on New Year’s Day. They will reopen with regular hours on Thursday, January 2, 2025.
The Main Parks & Recreation Office, along with all city business offices, will also be closed on New Year’s Day. Normal business hours will resume on January 2, from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
