Nashville Teens Arrested Again After Robbery Investigation

Two teens previously charged with robbery arrested following a new incident in Nashville.

Two teenagers previously implicated in a series of robbery crimes in 2023 have been arrested again following an investigation into an armed robbery that occurred on Tuesday in South Nashville. Hser Thaw, 17, and Nathan Naw, 18, were involved in an incident where a 17-year-old was robbed on Gillespie Drive.

Detective Cole Ranseen, who was in the vicinity when the robbery was reported, identified the suspects’ getaway vehicle, a silver Toyota Rav4. When he attempted to stop the vehicle, it sped away and eventually crashed into a concrete wall on Chambers Drive. The three individuals inside the SUV fled the scene. Detective Ranseen pursued Thaw, who was apprehended near Faulkner and Turley Drives with a semi-automatic pistol found nearby. The robbery victim later identified Thaw as one of the perpetrators.

Thaw had been charged last year in Juvenile Court with multiple crimes, including aggravated robbery, aggravated burglary, and auto theft. He was transferred to adult court and pleaded guilty to one count of robbery in October, receiving a three-year sentence to be served on supervised probation. Now, Thaw faces charges of aggravated robbery, evading arrest, and using a gun in the commission of a dangerous felony, with his bond set at $285,000. A probation violation warrant is also anticipated.

Nathan Naw, who was also a suspect in the robbery, was observed by a police helicopter crew running to a residence on Faulkner Drive. He claimed to the homeowner that he was being pursued and forced his way inside. Officers found Naw in the home, and the resident confirmed he was a stranger. Naw was previously out on a $150,000 bond with an ankle monitor for pending aggravated robbery and gun charges from 2023. He is now charged with aggravated criminal trespassing with a $4,000 bond. His ankle monitor data is under review as part of the ongoing investigation into Tuesday’s robbery.
