Nashville Initiative Supports Minority Hospitality Businesses

Program aids minority-owned businesses in Nashville's hospitality industry with resources and networking.

Fifteen minority-owned businesses in Nashville have been selected to participate in the Music City Chart Climbers: Amplifying Diverse Hospitality program. Presented by Amazon, this initiative aims to support diverse communities by providing them with opportunities in Nashville’s hospitality industry. These businesses operate in various sectors including convention suppliers, food and beverage, retail, and visitor experiences.

Deana Ivey, President and CEO of the Nashville Convention & Visitors Corp (NCVC), emphasized the program’s commitment to inclusivity and the provision of opportunities for minority-owned businesses to benefit from the city’s tourism and convention sectors.

During the eight-month program, participants will receive complimentary NCVC membership and access to educational and networking opportunities. This initiative is part of a strategic plan developed by the NCVC in collaboration with the hospitality industry.

The first cohort includes businesses such as Attendants Inc., Catering Concepts by Timothy, and Creative Soulz Printing, among others. Participants will attend monthly sessions covering topics like hospitality, marketing, finance, and entrepreneurship.

A diverse panel of industry and community leaders selected the participants. The selection committee included representatives from the Mayor’s Office, Belmont University, The Cupcake Collection, and several other local organizations.

The program was open to businesses owned by people of color, LGBTQ+ individuals, women, veterans, and those with disabilities. The NCVC collaborated with local minority and multicultural business organizations to ensure broad outreach.

The initiative will conclude with recognition at the NCVC’s annual Chairman & President’s Luncheon in Fall 2025. Graduates will receive a monetary gift to invest in their business, along with a free year of NCVC membership and a reduced-price membership for a second year.

The Nashville Convention & Visitors Corp aims to maximize the economic impact of the convention and tourism industry by promoting Nashville as a premier destination. More information can be found on the NCVC’s website at www.visitmusiccity.com.
