Nashville Daycare Operator Indicted for Child Sexual Abuse

Nashville man indicted for sexual abuse charges at unlicensed daycare.

A Nashville man, Imran Malik, has been jailed with a bond set at $260,000 following a 26-count grand jury indictment for the sexual abuse of two children. The incidents occurred over a four-year period at an unlicensed daycare that Malik operated from his home on Ashgrove Drive. The investigation, conducted by the Youth Services Juvenile Sexual Assault Unit, revealed Malik, 55, had committed acts of rape and assault on two girls, both under the age of 10.

The case came to light when one of the victims reported her abuse in January, stating it began in 2015 when she was just five years old. Subsequently, a second victim was identified during the course of the investigation, with similar allegations and timeline. Malik has been charged with 14 counts of rape of a child, 8 counts of aggravated sexual battery, 2 counts of aggravated rape of a child, and 2 counts of continuous sexual abuse of a child. Malik was apprehended by the South Precinct officers.
