Middle Tennessee State University (MTSU) is set to commemorate the achievements of nearly 1,600 students as they receive their degrees during the fall commencement ceremonies scheduled for Saturday, December 14, 2024. The ceremonies will take place in Hale/Earle Arena, located within the Murphy Center at 2650 Middle Tennessee Blvd.
The day will feature two public ceremonies. The first ceremony begins at 9 a.m. Central Time, where degrees will be conferred to graduate and undergraduate students from the College of Basic and Applied Sciences, College of Behavioral and Health Sciences, and College of Education. The second ceremony will commence at 2 p.m. Central Time, recognizing graduates from the Jennings A. Jones College of Business, College of Liberal Arts, College of Media and Entertainment, and University College.
For those unable to attend in person, the ceremonies will be live-streamed on MTSU’s website and Facebook page, as well as broadcast on MTSU’s “True Blue TV” on local cable channels. Links for the livestream and additional viewing options can be found at MTSU Live, MTSU Facebook, and True Blue TV.
This year, a total of 1,593 students are set to graduate, comprising 1,319 undergraduates and 274 graduate students. Among the graduate students, there are 240 master’s candidates, 20 education-specialist candidates, and 14 doctoral candidates. Additionally, seven graduate students will receive graduate certificates, and 16 undergraduate students will be awarded undergraduate certificates.

Since its establishment in 1911, MTSU has awarded approximately 187,700 degrees, spanning associate, bachelor’s, master’s, educational specialist, and doctoral levels.

Tennessee Colleges of Applied Technology (TCATs) have seen a 19% enrollment increase for the 2023-24 academic year, totaling 44,723 students. The Tennessee Board of Regents highlighted a 31% rise in dual enrollment and other growth in adult and specialized programs.
