Motorcyclist Dies in Crash on Murfreesboro Pike

A motorcyclist was killed in a collision on Murfreesboro Pike, Nashville.

A motorcyclist lost his life in a collision that occurred at approximately 2:20 p.m. near the intersection of Murfreesboro Pike and Pineway Drive. According to the preliminary investigation, a Buick Envision was traveling inbound on Murfreesboro Pike when it attempted to make a left turn, resulting in a collision with an outbound Suzuki Hayabusa motorcycle on the front passenger side.

The motorcyclist, identified as 49-year-old Charles Cromwell, was ejected from the Suzuki and subsequently transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where he succumbed to his injuries.

Following the collision, the Buick continued into a nearby gas station parking lot, where it struck a light pole. The 71-year-old driver of the Buick was also taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center with injuries characterized as non-life-threatening.

Authorities reported no signs of impairment for either driver involved in the accident.

Pedestrian Fatality on I-40 East Exit Ramp

A pedestrian, Arbadellia Richardson, died after being struck by a Toyota Corolla on the I-40 East exit ramp to Old Hickory Boulevard and Central Pike. Richardson was attempting to warn oncoming traffic about a disabled Chevrolet when she was hit. The Toyota driver, who suffered non-life-threatening injuries, reported he couldn’t avoid the collision. Investigations showed no signs of impairment.
