McGavock High Student Charged for Weapon on Campus

A student at McGavock High School was charged for bringing a pellet gun to school.

A 16-year-old student from McGavock High School has been charged in Juvenile Court for carrying a weapon onto school property. The incident occurred after a staff member observed the student exiting a vehicle while apparently in possession of a rifle. Upon investigation, the rifle was identified as a pellet gun, which was recovered from the 11th-grade student. Additionally, a machete and a hunting knife were found in the student’s vehicle. The student explained that he had been on a hunting trip and was transferring the pellet gun from the back seat to the trunk of the car.
