Detectives from the Homicide Unit are currently investigating a fatal shooting that occurred on Saturday night. The incident took place at approximately 11:35 p.m. near the intersection of Fain Street and Fairfield Avenue. The victim, identified as 39-year-old Lajames Devon Shannon, was riding a miniature motorbike when he was shot multiple times.
Authorities found Shannon on the right side of Fain Street, next to his motorbike. He was swiftly transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where he succumbed to his injuries. The Medical Examiner’s Office is involved in the investigation and will use fingerprints to confirm the victim’s identity.

Nashville Carjacking and Shooting Incident
Deybi Banegas-Ferrera, a 32-year-old felon, has been charged with aggravated robbery and firearm possession after carjacking and shooting a man at Maple Crest Apartments in Nashville. The victim, injured but stable, recounted the event before being hospitalized. Banegas-Ferrera was arrested after attempting to escape in the stolen vehicle, which he crashed on Keystone Drive.
