The Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) has announced that construction crews will be closing the I-55 Mississippi River Bridge over the upcoming weekend. This closure is part of the ongoing construction activities related to the I-55 and Crump interchange project. It marks the sixth of eight closures permitted under the project contract, with all activities being subject to weather conditions.
The scheduled closure will begin on Friday, December 13, at 8:00 PM and is expected to conclude by Monday, December 16, at 6:00 AM. During this period, I-55 Southbound will be closed at Bridgeport Road in Arkansas, while I-55 Northbound will be closed at South Parkway in Tennessee. Local traffic will, however, be allowed to continue up to the McLemore exit. Additionally, westbound traffic on Crump Boulevard will also face closure.
