Felon Arrested with Stolen Firearms in Nashville

Rodney Haynes Jr. was arrested with three guns, two reported stolen.

Rodney Haynes Jr., a 47-year-old convicted felon, has been taken into custody by law enforcement in connection with outstanding warrants, including charges related to possession of a firearm by a felon. The arrest was made following an investigation by the Specialized Investigations Division, which revealed Haynes was located in an apartment at University Court.

Despite several commands from officers, Haynes initially refused to leave the apartment. Consequently, law enforcement officers entered the premises and arrested him. During the arrest, detectives recovered three firearms from the apartment, two of which had previously been reported as stolen. One firearm was linked to a 2021 theft at a Dickerson Pike apartment, and the other was stolen from a vehicle on 2nd Avenue South in 2022.

Haynes now faces multiple charges, including three counts of being a felon in possession of a handgun, resisting arrest, and violating probation. His criminal history includes prior convictions for aggravated robbery and possession of cocaine. He remains in custody with a bond set at $49,000.
