On Sunday at approximately 2:30 p.m., officers from the South Precinct responded to an incident on Wingate Avenue near Sunrise Avenue in Nashville. An elderly woman, tentatively identified as an 83-year-old resident of Nashville, was discovered lying in the roadway by a nearby resident. She was promptly transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where she was pronounced deceased. The Medical Examiner is currently working to confirm her identity.
The preliminary findings from the Crash Investigation Unit indicate that the woman was struck by an unknown vehicle, which subsequently fled the scene. Decrease in Guns Stolen from Nashville Vehicles
